outfit of the day - - - september 6

I am getting so good at this blogging thing. ;P (knock on wood)

So I think this sweater is ADORABLE. Because - if you watch Legend of Korra, you'll get this - it looks like PABU! It's a freaking FIREFOX!

The skirt was one of the things I got at Forever 21 this past weekend, by the way. I don't think I'll do a haul; I feel like everything will end up on here eventually.

Top: Target
Skirt: Forever 21

I wore black Converse with this outfit.

outfit of the day - - - september 5

Look, it's a kitty! ^^ Haha, so I recently got this sweater/sweatshirt at Forever 21 and I love it! I think it's really cute and it's super comfortable. I actually got this a size up because it was on sale when I got it, but I like it this way because I really like the whole oversized sweater trend. I felt kinda nerdy-prep when I wore this today; I don't know if that's an accurate description of the style, but whatever. x)

Also, I love these shoes. They're like wedge booties from Target and they have a kind of clog design, I guess?

And you can't tell with the sweater on, but the collared shirt is really cool! I really like how it's made of lace, and the sleeves are studded! I decided to pair this under the sweater because I like the collar trend and I think it peeks out kinda nicely.

Sweater: Forever 21
Collared Top: China
Bottoms: Abercrombie Kids
Shoes: Target

outfit of the day - - - september 1

So now that my school schedule is pretty lax and leaves me with nothing to do, I'm gonna try to blog more! A Labor Day Weekend Haul should be coming pretty soon.. But no promises.

Anyways, these shorts are kind of awesome because a) they look like a skirt! and b) they have POCKETS. It's really different from anything else I have in my closet, and I really liked the pattern as well.

Top: Forever 21
Shorts: Forever 21
Belt: Forever 21
Necklace: Charming Charlie's
Headband: Claire's

Mucha Mascara

[AN: first post of the new year! A little late, though... Heh.]

So recently, I've been kind of going crazy with mascara... I think I've tried at least six different mascaras in the past two months. -_- But anyways, I thought I'd do a small mascara review as a sort of filler post - dedicated to my dear friend Alexis (her blog here!)

So in order of when I got them... Let's proceed!

1. CoverGirl's LashBlast Luxe:
Let me just say that I love, love, LOVE this mascara. I first started using it in January of last year and it did not disappoint at all. I used it religiously for an entire year before I decided I should switch things up, but this is honestly probably still my favorite. It comes in four shades, if I'm not mistaken, and the color is dark with shimmer-y particles in it. And it looks absolutely gorgeous! Especially in the sunlight, when you can really tell that it's sparkling. It's minor clumping, flaking, etc., but it really just depends on the weather conditions, I think. Plus, I didn't try a waterproof version, so that could also be it. But anyways, I definitely suggest that you try this mascara out!
[I used the shades black platinum and black emerald. Black platinum worked best with my eye color.]

2. Maybelline's Colossal:
I experienced a few problems with this mascara - the first time I wore it, it smudged so much that I looked like a raccoon! Also, it caused a lot of irritation - the area around my eyes was swollen and itchy. It has this weird rose scent to it, which might be what I'm allergic to. But considering how I was sensitive to this mascara, I would not recommend it. There wasn't really anything special about it, and like I said, the smudging was awful.

3. Lancome's Hypnose Drama:
I think this mascara is probably my second-favorite, out of the ones that I've tried. It is better quality, since it's department store, but it's super expensive! The only reason I was able to try it is because it came in a free gift with purchase set. But I love this mascara - the curved brush really helps to lift the lashes, and it didn't smudge at all for me! There wasn't flaking or anything, either, from my experiences. But anyways, I love this mascara, as well, and it's become my daily one for the moment.
[I'm almost out though! :( I wish I could afford to get more!]

4. Maybelline's Volume Express - Flared:
There's nothing I particularly love or hate about this mascara. I mean, it just kind of does the job. It needs to be built up slightly, but other than that, it just works fine.

5. Loreal's Voluminous - Carbon Black:
The first time I used this mascara, I was kind of amazed. That doesn't mean I love it, but I was really surprised because my lashes were still soft the whole day! I could still tell that I had mascara on, but my lashes felt kind of wet still, as if I had just applied it. So the texture of it is pretty nice, but it does smudge a little. Personally, I don't actually think I like the texture that much - it was just different. It clumps a little bit, but it's not terrible.

And last, but not least...
6. Lancome's Hypnose Doll Lashes:
Again, this brand is a little bit higher-end. But I definitely am impressed. It didn't quite hold up to my expectations, but it definitely does elongate my lashes, I think. I'm not extremely pleased with the hold, as it doesn't hold my curl, but overall, it's pretty good. I love the flower detail on the packaging, as well. ^^ Although I wouldn't necessarily say the mascara gives me doll lashes, it does a nice job of emphasizing my barely-there lashes. So I like it.

So there you have it! Hope this was slightly helpful, and sorry for the long absence! I'll do my best to update more often, but no guarantees.

Bye!

Gotta Catch 'Em All

Sorry for not doing a blog post in a really long time! I'm just too lazy to upload my pictures! >< But anyways, I spent two hours working on these Pokemon nails last night, and I have to say that I absolutely love these! The Piplup one is not my own design, so I did find that on the internet, but Charmander and Squirtle are my own.

Anyways, I thought I'd start making a list of the nail polishes I use for my designs! So here goes!

On all of my nails, I started off with the Essie All In One Base base coat.

Black Friday/November Haul (:

Hi! Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving!

I'm back! And I sincerely apologize for the lack of blogging the past three weeks.. I was having personal issues and it was hard to motivate myself to do anything. But I am back now, and feeling much better!

So first off, I just wanted to say that I experienced my first ever Thanksgiving dinner! My friend invited me over to eat with his family, and it was really nice! And delicious! I had apple pie for the first time, as well as a real Thanksgiving meal. But yeah! Just thought I'd say this first. ^^

This was supposed to just be a Black Friday haul, but I actually went shopping the Sunday before Black Friday and got a few things as well, so this is kind of the general month of November!
Also, H&M opened at my local mall on the 17th at noon, so I've included those items too! And yes, I did go to the grand opening! Luckily, I happened to have a free period that day and I didn't have to miss class to go. But it was insanely crowded - the deals were great, though! So I'll probably start with that and work my way to the Black Friday haul.
Okay! Here we go :)

Forever 21 Eagle necklace, $3.36
Eh, I got this at the beginning of the month, so I figured I'd just include it in this post. It was originally $4.80, but they were having a 30% off jewelry special when I got it, so yeah! I think it's really cute, and it's a little shorter than the pendant necklaces I usually get. But at the same time, it's not too short. So it's a nice length.

H&M Opening: I spent a ton here because it was just opening and there were a lot of deals. Plus, they gave out these $10 off $50 coupons, so I figured I'd go ahead and get stuff and I could return it if I changed my mind.

Maroon elbow-patch cardigan, $17.95
I absolutely love this cardigan! It was a little pricey for me, but the color is beautiful and the elbow patches are so adorable! Elbow patches may be slightly on the dorky side of fashion, but I have to say that I think they're super cute!

 Cream sweater, $10
This sweater was one of their opening deals, and it was originally $17.95. The sweater is slightly cropped and it's crewneck, and I just love the boxy design of it.

 Burgundy striped tee, $12.95
I thought that the design of this tee was really unique. The front has small stripes with larger rugby stripes on the sleeves, and the back is the other way around. I think the color is really pretty as well, and it's just a cute, casual tee.

This shirt was just a steal, and I couldn't pass it up. It was originally $12.95, but again, it was an opening deal! It was available in black, deep purple, and hot pink too, but I'm really into the neutral gold/brown colors for the winter. I think it fits really well, and is really versatile because you can dress it up or dress it down and the color goes with everything.

Turtleneck cream sweater tunic, $10
Again, this was an opening deal and it was originally $24.95. I'm not entirely sure whether or not I love this sweater yet, but I figured that it was a pretty good deal and I am lacking sweaters. It's kind of different, and isn't something I would usually wear, so we'll see! It's really comfy, though. :)

Target: I went went shopping here for my friend's birthday present, and picked up this shirt while I was there! It's kind of like a poncho, almost! Haha, I thought it was really cute, though. I think I got it for like $12? I'm not entirely sure! x)

Sunday, November 20th: It was my friend's birthday and she wanted to go shopping for part of it, so we did! I didn't spend a lot because I was saving up for Black Friday, but here's what I got!
Forever 21 Sweet bunny pullover, $10
This was a Yellow Tag Deal, and originally $16.90. I had been window shopping on the Forever 21 website and I saw this and thought it was super cute! So when I went in the store, I was determined to find it. Luckily, I did! It's really comfy ^^ And I think the design is adorable!

American Eagle owl ring, $3.33
I. LOVE. THIS. RING. It's an owl!! And I am thoroughly obsessed with owls, as you should know! x) I'm not a huge ring person because rings tend to just get in my way and get uncomfortable, but I've worn this a few times now and it's really nice! It's not extremely bulky and it's pretty smooth and it fits really well, so it's perfect for me

American Eagle ring cluster necklace, $3.33
I thought this necklace was really cute, and the mix of ring styles was cute! I've always wanted a necklace in this style, so I was glad I found it.

And finally...
Black Friday! I actually didn't get a ton of stuff, which was good. x) I actually didn't have much time to shop because I had to work. Six hours of standing at the cash register, yay... But at least I was in a booth sort-of thing, so the crazy Black Friday shoppers couldn't push me around. (I worked at a pretzel place at my mall.) Anyways, here's what I got!
Charlotte Russe leggings in lilac and burgundy, $3.50 each
I've been wanting these for a while, and I thought I was getting them for $5 each. So I was pleasantly surprised when they rang up for even less! I guess Charlotte Russe was having a 30% Black Friday special or something? But it was nice and now I have them, so I'm okay with it! ^^

Forever 21 navy cardigan, $9.99
Forever 21 was having a "buy 1, get 1 free" special for their sale items, so I browsed their sale section and found this cardigan! I'm a huge cardigan person because they're so versatile and you can wear them with all kinds of things. You might not be able to tell from the picture, but the back is actually longer than the front. I thought this was kind of cool, and I've been looking for tops with this style so it was perfect! The material isn't too heavy, either, so I think I could wear it year-round.

Forever 21 graphic tank, free
I got this tank for free with the cardigan, since it was a sale item. But I thought this was super adorable! I don't really have any graphic tanks, and this one really caught my eye!

Forever 21 camel classic crewneck sweater, $12
This was a yellow tag deal and I think it was originally $19.80? But I thought the material was super soft, and again, it's a nice neutral color.

 Macy's lace-detailed tank
This is actually a size Large and from the Women's petite section, but I figured that since it's just a vest, the size doesn't especially matter. Actually, I think the size just makes it longer, which is nice. I think it ended up being around $5? But I think this could be super cute with a sundress or a tank&jeans, and it's a neutral enough color where I could wear it with a lot of things. I've been wanting something with lace-detailing, so this was nice.

Hollister hoodie, $15
I actually didn't get to go to Hollister on Black Friday, but they ended up having a better deal the day after! So I picked up this hoodie for just $15. I got a grey one last year on Black Friday and I love it! Their hoodies are super comfy, and I've been wanting another for a while now.

Hollister gray&white striped crewneck top, $9.54
I love these casual tops, and this was just so soft and nice that I immediately fell in love with it!

Ahh! So many clothes! >< Haha, but I'm finally done with my haul! Maybe next time I should do a video if I'm doing a haul post? It might make it easier.. And I could try on the clothes and everything. Should I do that? Let me know what you think!

Anyways, sorry for the super long post! And hopefully, I'll be able to get back to posting more often. :)

Bye!
